Each year in Chinese almanac, is made up by two Chinese characters, the Heavenly Stem (on top) and Earthly Branch. When we say about the year of the Rat, it is just referring to the Earthly Branch. But when it comes to forecasting for the year of the Rat, the Heavenly Stem must be put into the equation.

The Heavenly Stem for 2008 is Yang Earth (Mu). So 2008 is called the Yang Earth Rat. (Mu Zi)

Yang is fast moving, energetic and strong. So in the coming year, everything will be moving very fast and unstable.

In term of the five elements, The Earthly Branch of the Rat (2008) is Water element.

The Heavenly Stem on top is Yang Earth. (strong)

Strong Earth is on the top. That means there will be big news about meteors crashing or streaking on to the Earth surface.

There will be more stone throwing cases. Stones being thrown to cars, trains, trams or hard rubbish throw from high rises and so on.

Earth conquers Water

Yang Earth on top conquers Water element underneath that means the top level conquers the bottom level. Governments, big corporations or parents will have a lot of different policies (excuses) to suppress the bottom level (the citizens, the workers, the children). Look at the recent case, the Banks increasing interest rate without The Reserve Bank rate raised and this is just the starting. There are more to come.

Wu and Gui are bonding

The Heavenly Stem (Wu) bonds with the Earthly Branch Rat (Zi). Rat is water. This means there will be a lot more drowning cases (water safety concern). For those have pool and toddlers at home. Extra care must be taken to look after water safety at home and at the beach.

Secondly, after the Wu and Gui bonding, it gives out fire. The fire will enhance Earth. At the same time the fire will conquer Metal. This means that the Property market and Share market will be very unstable in 2008. Pay more attention in June 2008.

2008 Rat is Pink Flower year

Year of Rat, Horse, Rabbit, and Rooter belongs to Pink-flower (romance) year. In 2008, there will be a lot of relationship problems, especially coming from the entertainment industry. There are also will be more crimes (sexual harassments/rapes) happening in west side of the City. Ladies should avoid going out at night alone! (West is Dui Gui, Dui is Young Lady)

2008/2009 “Blasting Fire”

In 2008 and 2009, the element for the each Heavenly Stem and Earthly Branch combined is Fire. It has a special name called “Blasting Fire”. Worldwide, there will be more burning fire raiding through forest, properties. “Blasting fire” is coming very fast, so people should do their best to prevent the fire and implement a fire plan. Make sure smoke alarm in working order.

If you have watched the news, there were cases have already happened. There were a few house fires in a week in Melbourne. There was a Hunter Valley vineyard blast. Those cases happened when the time approaching to 4^th February 2008. After 4^th February, there will be more cases.

Theme park thrill rides

2008 year of the Rat, should avoid thrill rides in theme parks. In the Yang Earth Rat year, there will be more mechanical malfunction on those thrill rides. Especially for the people whose animal signs are Rat, Horse, Rabbit and Rooster! For people with these animal signs should avoid going to theme with “Rat” or “Mouse” logo. In terms of weather

In terms of weather, the second half of 2008 will be a cooler year compare with 2007. 2008 will have more rainfall again. The average temperature will be lower. Rat is Water. Second half of the year, there are still be flooding and it is shifting south. Cities like Melbourne, Adelaide should well prepare for it. Related departments should fix the block drainage in the city.

2008 Earth Luck

Earth Luck is to do with where you live, that is the general public and your home.

Each year, there are three major, Sha (Bad Energy). These three Sha have the power to override any flying stars regardless how good your chart is.

Let’s look at the plant Earth as a whole. The North and South would have problems. The East and West will be good.

Three killings and Five-yellow

The south sector got the Three-killings and the Five-yellow. The South sector has double bad energy. The south sector is fire element. It is related to heart, blood pressure and eye problems.

If the main door, bedroom door is in the South Sector or sleep (the head) toward south, the bad energy will cause fire element sickness.

In the South sector, please do not place any red objects, likes red carpet, red posters. If the door is in the south sector close it slowly and gently. Do not slam the door. Do not nail, chisel the walls. Do not dig the floor/ground inside or outside.

Place a grey or black carpet in the south sector. It will reduce the bad energy. If possible, place a pot (black one) with 80% of clear water in the south sector.

The North has Tai Sui

Tai Sui or Grand Duke is the yearly King. The Tai Sui controlling the North sector in year 2008. The North sector is Water element. It is related to excretion system including, kidneys, urethra, prostate gland for male, bladders and other water system in our body.

The best way to prevent bad luck and sickness is not to stir up the bad energy. Do not dig, nail, chisel and renovate the north sector floor/ground and walls inside and outside.

The lucky corner at the East and South East

The lucky corner is at the East. The East is related to Money and South East is related to happy events like marriage or having a baby.

If the main door is facing east and there is no bad forms outside, in 2008 year of the rat, Money will come smoothly to the house. To enhance the good energy, simply place a vase fill with water next to the door.

For couples want to have baby, simply move the bed and sleep at the South East sector of the House.

Human Luck Individually in 2008

The bonding means in the year of Rat, will meet a few new friends, new relationship and new partnership. Whether the new friendship, relationship or partnership is good or bad, it is depending on the whole astrology chart.

Tiger (Born in 1938, 1950, 1962, 1974, 1986, 1998) year of the rat will be a busy year for the Tiger. It has a very similar situation to Horse.

Dragon (Born in 1928, 1940, 1952, 1964, 1976, 1988, 2000), the impact in 2006 is gradually faded away. The Dragon also bonds with the Tai Sui. There is new development for the Dragon. It may be a promotion or new venture. If Water element is the favor element to the chart, there will be a lot of good opportunities in April and August.

Snake (Born in 1929, 1941, 1953, 1965, 1977, 1989, 2001) is slowly moving up from the impact in 2007. However, it has not ended yet. The positive changes normally start toward the birthday month.

Goat (Born in 1943, 1955, 1967, 1979, 1991, 2203) will be easily getting into partnership. But beware of implication by the business partners’ wrong doing. Do not be a personal guarantor to others involving money matter.

Monkey (Born in 1944, 1956, 1968, 1980, 1992, 2004) bonds with the Tai Sui too. Rat is Tai Sui. Monkey and Dragon bond with Tai Sui. The Monkey will have very similar situation as Dragon.

Dog (Born in 1934, 1946, 1958, 1970, 1982, 1994, 2006) will face some difficulties in April and October but it can get through. Drive carefully. A small operation may need.

Pig (Born in 1935, 1947, 1959, 1971, 1983, 1995, 2007), the impact in 2007 is slowly faded away. Working environment may change in 2008.
